Here is an alternative treatment for Crohn's disease, constipation and diverticulitis. (Also irritable bowel syndrome)
From my many years treating my own intestinal challenges, I discovered a few products that I believe can be used to effectively treat Crohn's Disease, Constipation and Diverticulitis. I am convinced that these intestinal problems are created by an inability to relax the stomach muscles, and breath effortlessly into the 'belly'....along with poor eating and drinking habits, The tightness in the gut, due to tension and anxiety, and a poor quality of food, cause strictures and knotted areas along the intestinal tract. This results in the process of elimination being extremely slow or blocked. That is where the constipation seems to come from. Also, when the intestinal back-up becomes too great, then comes the irritable bowel syndrome of loose bowel movements.
First off, I recommend locating a good yoga teacher who can show a few poses and exercises which will loosen up the gut area and help establish relaxed, belly-breathing. Then start eating properly. Read labels, or better yet, avoid processed foods with labels attached. Become 'conscious' of what is eaten, and then take note of the after-effects.
Not maintaining a healthy diet of fresh farm vegetables, poultry/fish/, legumes/lentils/grains and quality rice or potatoes (with clean drinking water as the preferred liquid)... is bound to eventually wreck havoc with the bowels. Our history of thousands of years of eating fresh farm foods cannot be replaced with processed flour products, processed sugar products, hydrogenated/modified oils, processed dairy products or cloned meat products. Our drinking fluid cannot be replaced with processed fruit drinks, genetically modified soy products, or highly processed dairy milk.
I have discovered that those I have met with Crohn's disease and Diverticulitis are generally suffering from constipation and gas buildup which brings about sharp pains in the gut and leads to inflammation and irritable bowel syndrome. I like to think about it like a balloon that is 'strictured' and the gas just can't escape. The intestinal walls simply 'balloon out' in various places to hold the excess gas. These small 'pouches' along the intestinal wall are known as diverticuli. These pouches become filled with 'decaying' food matter that cause havoc like a backed-up septic field or a plugged sewage system.
Unplugging the sewage line, so to speak, is going to free up and re-establish a healthier process of elimination. When constipation is eliminated, that in itself will remove toxic build-up within the intestinal tract and colon. Clearer thinking and a healthy physiology will naturally ensue. More than likely a clearer complexion will also follow.
Conclusion and Remedy:
Along with exploring the yoga exercises to relax and loosen the belly area, and along with proper eating and drinking habits, I recommend using a few health food products to recreate normal digestion and elimination within the intestinal tract. Regarding Constipation: A more immediate remedy is to buy a small enema device from the pharmacy. Fill it with warm water, lie on your side, and sqeeze the water in gently and slowly. Voila. It is gentle and effective.
Healing Therapy: - Each morning drink a tall glass of water that is room temperature (just leave it overnight on your counter or night table) and add a squeeze of lemon. Drinking a tall glass of water that has been sitting overnight, first thing, helps to hydrate the body (and colon in particular). Water, or chamomile tea, in the day needs to be consumed one hour before meals, so as not to dilute the digestive fluids.
1) Start with a natural, herbal laxative the day before consuming the following two whole food products. Take the herbal laxative, once only, this week, and once only the following week. I have discovered that two teaspoons of organic baking soda in a cup of warm water is an excellent laxative, and also breaks down the build-up of uric acid in the system (This will be beneficial for those suffering from gout).
2) The second step is to drink one to two ounces of pure Aloe Vera herbal formula, three times a day. This will balance the acidity in the stomach and begin the healing of the stomach and intestinal walls. The aloe herbal formula also contains herbs such as slippery elm which will heal the intestinal lining. Drinking chamomile tea will also sooth the stomach and intestinal tract.
3) The third step is to drink daily, first thing in the morning two hours before eating, one tablespoon of (Natural Factors) ChiaFactors chia seeds, mixed with a full cup of hot water, and a touch of cinnamon and pure vanilla for taste. (The chia seeds and hot, boiled water mixture will become like a seeded jelly that moves through the intestinal tract and cleanses the pockets of undigested fecal matter). The chia seeds could be substituted with one tablespoon of bentonite clay powder or psyllium husk powder mixed with a full glass of room temperature water. Bentonite clay powder (or psyllium husk powder) absorbs toxins and undigested food matter from within the intestines. Both the chia seeds and clay powder move through the digestive tract like a jellied broom.
4) Do the second and third steps for one week, and then take another natural, herbal laxative to completely eliminate the waste within the bowels once again.
5) For the next three weeks, reduce the consumption of ChiaFactors chia seeds to once every three days, but continue to take the Aloe Vera herbal formula to heal the lining of the intestine and bowels. Remember to drink a tall glass of water (room temperature) first thing, every morning.
Conclusion: After a month of the yoga belly-breathing and relaxation exercises, the Aloe Vera herbal formula daily, and the Chia seed and water mixture every third day, whatever bowel problems one had, will more than likely have disappeared or minimized. The only requirement has been to consume healthy foods and drink, avoiding packaged/processed/fast foods, eliminating hydrogenated/modified oils...and properly using the Aloe Vera herbal formula and ChiaFactors chia seeds. Not a bad trade-off for a healthy body, I would say.
Recommended Dietary Measures
Probiotics may also be taken prior to meals: Probiotics are live microorganisms that benefit health. Long-term use of probiotics lowers the risk of infection by H. pylori and development of ulcers. Common sources of probiotics are organic yogurt, miso, tempeh, some juices and soy beverages. We use New Roots "Acidophilus Ultra", a probiotic tablet containing 11 billion live active cells of 10 different cultures. And the capsules are 'enteric-coated' to make it past the stomach into the digestive tract. http://www.abacohealth.com/index.php/prodid/NRT010
